As digital payments become deeply embedded in everyday life, the risks that accompany them are evolving just as quickly. From phishing links to deepfake scams, fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated methods to deceive users.

In response to this growing challenge, L&T Finance Ltd. (LTF) has launched a new cyber safety initiative titled ‘Sachet with Sachet’, aimed at empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to navigate the digital financial ecosystem safely.

The initiative introduces an engaging and practical approach to financial awareness, combining interactive technology, gamified learning and community engagement. At the centre of the campaign is Sachet Kumar, the brand mascot representing LTF’s financial awareness efforts. The initiative seeks to simplify complex cyber safety concepts and make them accessible to users across demographics.

To anchor the campaign, LTF has launched a dedicated microsite, LTFSachet.in, designed as a learning and safety hub where users can explore tools, quizzes, and educational content focused on scam prevention.

One of the most prominent features of the platform is the Link Verification Tool. Users can paste any suspicious URL into the tool to check its safety in seconds. Powered by Google Safe Browsing and the ChatGPT API, the system evaluates potential risks and categorises them using a simple colour coded framework.

A green signal indicates no immediate risk, orange flags moderate threats, while red alerts users to high-risk scams. By simplifying complex security assessments into easy visual cues, the tool enables even less tech savvy users to make informed decisions before clicking unfamiliar links.

Beyond detection tools, the initiative also places a strong emphasis on behavioural learning. The microsite features gamified scam awareness quizzes that simulate real life digital fraud scenarios. Topics include UPI safety, phishing attacks, deepfake scams, and advance fee fraud.

Participants are encouraged to navigate these situations and choose the safest course of action. Those who successfully complete the challenges earn the ‘Sachet Shield’ digital badge, recognising them as ‘Scam-Smart’.

The platform also hosts a dedicated scam safety education section. This digital library offers learning modules and archived financial awareness videos designed to help users understand the mechanics of digital fraud and the steps required to stay protected.

Speaking about the initiative, Kavita Jagtiani, Chief Marketing Officer at LTF, emphasised the urgency of improving cyber awareness in a rapidly digitising financial environment.

“Today, nearly everyone with a smartphone has, in some way, been targeted by scams. Fraudsters have become incredibly sophisticated, using technology to make it nearly impossible to distinguish between what is real and what is fake. Those who are less digitally savvy are often the most vulnerable, risking the loss of their hard-earned life savings in an instant. ‘Sachet with Sachet’ is our sincere attempt to educate and empower every citizen. By providing active tools and simple guidance, we want to ensure that being ‘Scam-Smart’ becomes the new norm for everyone,” she said.

To ensure the message travels beyond traditional awareness campaigns, LTF has also built a strong influencer and social media strategy around the initiative.

Content creators will collaborate on podcast style interactions where influencers host Sachet Kumar as a virtual guest. These conversations focus on practical digital safety tips and scam safe resolutions for the New Year 2026.

The campaign also includes a vox pop activation, where creators engage people in street level conversations about digital fraud. Participants who demonstrate strong awareness about scams are awarded physical Sachet Shield trophies, reinforcing the idea that financial vigilance deserves recognition.

Through this multi-layered approach, ‘Sachet with Sachet’ has already reached 2 Crore users with 1.7 Lakh users visiting the website and over 10,000 users earning the Sachet Shield, actively equipping them with the confidence and tools needed to protect themselves.

As India’s digital economy continues to expand, initiatives such as this highlight the growing role financial institutions can play in strengthening cyber awareness and building a culture of responsible digital behaviour.
