Seer Shivakumara Swami no more, Social media mourns his death

The 111-year-old seer of the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur, Karnataka was a humanitarian, educationist, and a spiritual leader

Shivakumara Swami also popularly known as Nadedaduva Devaru (Walking God) in Karnataka passed away in Tumkur, Karnataka following an illness.  The 111-year-old was the seer of the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur. He was a humanitarian, educationist, and a spiritual leader. He had an active presence in the political circles of the southern state of Karnataka. 

He had established educational institutions which offer courses in traditional learning of Sanskrit as well as modern science and technology. He is widely respected for his philanthropic work by all communities. He was an influential Lingayat seer and people from all walks of life including politics, media, and film industry are his followers. 

Politicians beyond their political differences have shared their condolences on the seer’s demise. President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Puneet Rajkumar among others paid homage to the seer on their Twitter accounts.
