P&G Hygiene and Health Care ups advertising & promotion expenses by 25.5%

P&G Hygiene and Health Care has posted a 7.62% growth in revenue from operations in Q1 when compared to the same period last year, media reports said.
The company’s advertising and sales promotion expenses have increased by 25.5% to Rs 104.4 crore in the quarter under review year-on-year. Its total expenses have risen 14.6% to Rs 681.7 crore, media reports said.
It has reported a 5 per cent decline in profit for the first quarter ended September 30. P&G follows a July-June financial year.
The company’s advertising and sales promotion expenses have shot up 25.5% from Rs 83.2 crore last year to Rs 104.4 crore in 2019.
Madhusudan Gopalan, Managing Director, Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd was quoted by media reports as saying, "In a challenging macro-economic environment, our focus on raising the bar on superiority, improving productivity, and strengthening the organization culture has enabled us to deliver sustained growth during the first quarter. We will continue to remain focused on these strategies in line with our aim to drive balanced sales and profit growth.”
The feminine care business of the brand has registered a double-digit growth in the quarter and health care business grew ahead of the market, the company has said.
