Procter & Gamble Home stepped up its advertising and promotional investments in FY25, even as the company reported modest revenue growth and a mixed profitability performance for the year ended March 2025.

The FMCG major’s advertising and promotional expenses rose 21.5% year-on-year to Rs 930.03 crore in FY25, up from Rs 765.15 crore in FY24, signalling an aggressive push on brand visibility and consumer engagement amid heightened competition across categories.

During the year, P&G India’s revenue from operations increased 3.4% to Rs 9,054.11 crore, compared to Rs 8,756.79 crore in the previous fiscal. However, a sharp fall in other income led total income to decline to Rs 9,228.83 crore from Rs 9,413.02 crore a year earlier.

Total expenses rose to Rs 8,292.91 crore in FY25, up from Rs 8,156.29 crore in FY24, driven by higher employee benefit costs and increased other expenses. Employee benefit expenses climbed to Rs 665.19 crore from Rs 605.94 crore, while other expenses rose to Rs 2,592.66 crore from Rs 2,305.95 crore.

Profit before tax declined to Rs 935.92 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,256.73 crore in FY24. A significantly lower tax outgo, however, supported the bottom line, with total tax expense falling to Rs 252.63 crore from Rs 683.13 crore a year ago.

Consequently, profit after tax rose 19.1% year-on-year to Rs 683.29 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 573.60 crore in FY24, even as the company continued to prioritise advertising and brand investments
