Ola ropes in Tinu Cherian and Amit Kumar Nanchahal to bolster PR and Social Media strategy
Ola has been strengthening its public relations team in a bid to overcome challenges by the cut throat market environment, which has been compounded by the recent stir of drivers demanding greater share of incentives
Bengaluru-based ANI Technologies, which operates India’s largest cab hailing service Ola across 100 cities in India, is strengthening its core marketing and communications team with a slew of new appointments.
In January 2017, Ola appointed (ex-Pepsico) Vishal Kaul as its Chief Operating Officer. Recently, Tinu Cherian Abraham joined Ola Cabs as Manager-Public Relations & Communications. A social media expert, he moves to Ola Bengaluru from UST Global.
Another key appointment is that of Amit Kumar Nanchahal to strengthen the PR and Communications team of Ola Delhi. An alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Nanchahal was earlier working as Manager, Corporate Communications and Sustainability at SABMiller India.
Founded in January 2011 by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay alumni Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati, Ola has raised around $1.3 billion in external funding. Ola has been strengthening its public relations team in a bid to overcome challenges by the cut-throat market environment compounded with stir by the drivers demanding greater share of incentives and restrictions by some state governments to shared rides.
