Media ACE not just awards, but rewards for growing business: Marzin R Shroff

In a keynote session at exchange4media's Media ACE Awards, Marzin R Shroff Managing Director, CEO, Eureka Forbes Ltd, shared insights on the awards entries and jury's selection process

The Media ACE Awards, an exchange4media event that recognizes the work Indian media agencies have done in the past year, was held August 6. Marzin R Shroff, Managing Director, CEO, Eureka Forbes Ltd the grand jury chair delivered a keynote session before the awards ceremony began.

Shroff said, “On behalf of the entire jury, the seventeen of us judging the event spent over eight hours fighting, discussing, and arguing but finally, we arrived at the right conclusion.”

He added, “You get awarded for doing great work but you actually get rewarded when you know the client’s message. As a client, I can tell you most of the stuff relies on rewards rather than awards.”

Shroff noted, "The Media ACE Awards are not just awards, but rewards for growing business. They award the agency for their growth, for their clients and other factors. In the good old days, we had one television in the house, which was a black and white television set. The entire family watched a channel like Doordarshan. They didn’t even broadcast an entire day. There were just a 160 minutes broadcast a day.”

“Today, we have 1600 satellite channels on our television screens, 17,000 newspapers far more zillions and millions of page views on the internet. But what the industry has actually done is measure and track. Go one step ahead and measure and track again. It is all about data today,” he said

Today there is a whole lot of logic but very little magic, Shroff added, “As a client, one would say mix the two so that we get a little more of magic coming in. So that we can engage with our customers and get maximum impact.”

He signed off by congratulating the winners of the Media ACE Awards 2019.
