On 15th September 2025, Girish Hingorani turned a year older. Hingorani’s influence over the past 25 years has quietly reshaped how comfort, quality and aspiration are perceived in the home‐appliances space. At Blue Star Ltd, Hingorani has not only helped scale product lines, but has recast the company’s identity, turning it into a premium, modern, much‐admired brand.

His tenure with Blue Star, which spans more than 25 years, reflects both versatility and vision. Over time, Hingorani has worn many hats, starting with foundational roles in marketing and communications, then presiding over corporate messaging, and even pioneering new business verticals. In 2016, he was entrusted with setting up the company’s water purifier business as its Chief Marketing Officer, an assignment that required everything from product‐market fit to consumer trust. It is a testament to his belief in portfolio diversification, and the courage to enter categories beyond a brand’s comfort zone.

Today, Hingorani heads up Marketing & E-Commerce for all of Blue Star’s consumer appliances: air conditioners, water purifiers, air coolers and air purifiers. His remit spans not just traditional advertising or brand campaigns, but strategic brand management, digital marketing, product management and the rapidly growing domain of digital commerce. Under his leadership, Blue Star’s advertising has cut through India’s crowded HVAC and appliance market with TV commercials that are now remembered for more than just high visual polish.

One of his defining strengths has been consistency. Year after year, his marketing teams have elevated Blue Star’s presence, reinforcing its premium promise. The shift in consumer perception, from seeing Blue Star merely as engineering strength to recognising it as a brand of choice, has been gradual, but unmistakable. His work in unified e-commerce, in particular, signals a deftness in adapting to shifting habits, enabling Blue Star to capture changing buying patterns without diluting its core positioning.

As he celebrates another birthday, it’s worth recognising both where he has been and where he is heading. The templates he has set, of disciplined brand building, clear communication and product innovation, are now being followed by many.
