Digital-first agency Kinnect has secured the creative mandate for Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League, according to sources familiar with the development.
The agency will manage campaign assets and launch films for the franchise, expanding on its previous work with the team in the Women’s Premier League.
Kinnect’s mandate will span television and digital platforms as the IPL season approaches, with the launch campaign expected to set the tone for the franchise’s engagement strategy.
The win positions Kinnect at the centre of one of India’s most high-profile sporting properties, with Mumbai Indians commanding a strong fan base and brand recall.
The IPL continues to be a marquee platform for advertisers, drawing significant interest and driving large-scale, multi-platform campaigns.
Kinnect replaces Lintas, which previously handled the account, including the “#WePlayLikeMumbai” campaign. The transition also carries an added layer of industry context, with both Kinnect and Lintas historically part of Interpublic Group, one of the world’s largest advertising holding companies.
Founded and led by Chandni Shah and Rohan Mehta, the agency is part of the Omnicom Advertising India network.
