Former Mohun Bagan president and media entrepreneur Swapnasadhan Bose alias Tutu Babu passed away on Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack. He was 78 years old.

Bose founded the Bengali-language daily newspaper Sangbad Pratidin in 1992. His son Srinjoy Bose is the current Editor-In-Chief of the publication.

This venture marked the group's initial diversification into publishing while catering to the growing demand for regional-language media.

As per some reports, he started the Kolkata edition of Asian Age and was also running the Radio Asia Network in Dubai.

Bose was former president of Mohun Bagan Super Giant and one of the most influential administrators in Indian football. He was also a former member of the Rajya Sabha from 2005 to 2011.

He remained a central figure in Mohun Bagan’s administration for more than three decades, serving the club in several leadership roles, including secretary and later president.
