JioStar announces World TV Premieres for festive season

JioStar is launching a series of World Television Premieres during the festive season, featuring a diverse lineup of Hindi and South Indian films, including titles like "Raja Shivaji," "Chand Mera Dil," and "Welcome To The Jungle."
The initiative aims to enhance shared entertainment experiences among families, capitalizing on the increased viewing habits during the festive period, where Hindi movie viewership in Hindi-speaking markets rises by 45%.
The premiere schedule includes significant releases on various channels, with notable dates such as "Raja Shivaji" on September 12, 2026, and "Welcome To The Jungle" on November 1, 2026.
JioStar's programming is designed to cater to a wide audience, ensuring a variety of genres and languages, thus fostering collective viewing experiences across millions of homes in India.

As India comes together to celebrate the festive season, JioStar is bringing a power-packed line-up of World Television Premieres to millions of homes across the country. From historical spectacles and romance to action and family entertainment, the lineup includes names across Hindi and South movies—including Raja Shivaji, Chand Mera Dil, Welcome To The Jungle, Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar The Revenge, Gatta Kushti, Blast, Idhayam Murali, and Vishwanath and Sons—creating appointment viewing moments for families throughout the festive season.

Movies remain one of the largest destinations for television audiences in India. According to industry data, India spends 23 trillion minutes annually watching movies on television¹. The festive season further amplifies this viewing behaviour. For instance, Hindi movie viewing in the Hindi-speaking markets (HSM) sees a 45% increase during the festive period², as families spend more time with each other and come together for shared viewing experiences.

Star Gold has already set the festive momentum in action with the premiere of Raja Shivaji, on September 12th, 2026. This was followed by Chand Mera Dil on September 20th, 2026. The line-up continues in October with Dhurandhar: The Revenge premiering on October 18th, 2026, followed by Dhurandhar, also on Star Utsav Movies, COLORS Cineplex Bollywood, and COLORS Cineplex Superhits, on October 25th, 2026. The season culminates with Welcome To The Jungle, arriving as a World Television Premiere on November 1st, 2026.

On Star Vijay, the festive season kickstarts with the release of Kara in September followed by Blast (Tamil), Gatta Kusthi, and Dhurandhar The Revenge (Tamil) in October, culminating with Idhayam Murali and Vishwanath and Sons in November. Star Maa’s festive line-up includes the release of Blast (Telugu) in September, followed by Maa Inti Bangaram (Telugu) and Dhurandhar The Revenge (Telugu) in October. COLORS Kannada and Star Suvarna will feature a power-packed line-up as well, comprising Blast (Kannada) and Mr. X (Kannada) in October, and Maa Inti Bangaram (Kannada), Mango Pachcha, and Dhurandhar The Revenge (Kannada) during October – November. Dhurandhar The Revenge in Malayalam will also premiere on Asianet in October.
