The live streaming of the India–New Zealand final on JioHotstar recorded unprecedented viewership on Sunday, with total views touching nearly 78.5 crore (785 million) during the closing moments of the match.
When New Zealand began their innings while chasing India’s total, number of views on JioHotstar stood at around 58.3 crore.
A significant spike was recorded when Tim Seifert was dismissed, pushing the total number of views to approximately 63.2 crore as the momentum shifted decisively in India’s favour.
The biggest surge came in the final moments of the match. As India sealed the victory, the platform registered nearly 80 crore.
The number of views was recorded at 74.5 crore at the moment of the final catch that sealed India’s win by 96 runs.
The India–England semi-final earlier in the week had clocked 65.2 million (6.52 cr) concurrent viewers on the platform, as per data from ICC press release.
