An AI-generated video reimagining the iconic American sitcom Friends as a Bollywood production has taken social media by storm this week, with the desi version cheekily renamed Mitron going viral across Instagram and X.

Shared initially by Instagram creator Abhishek Prabhu (@ayyybhishek), this fun AI-generated video has exploded across platforms, racking up thousands of views in days. The concept swaps the iconic Friends gang for some of B-Town's big names, blending the show's quirky humour with filmy flair. The creator playfully labelled it “rage bait” designed to stir up the hardcore Friends fandom, and it absolutely delivered.

Ranbir Kapoor as Ross Geller, Priyanka Chopra as Rachel Green, Kareena Kapoor Khan as Monica Geller, Aamir Khan as Chandler Bing, Varun Dhawan as Joey Tribbiani, Kangana Ranaut as Phoebe Buffay and last but not the least Hrithik Roshan as Mike Hannigan.

Social media reactions poured in fast and furious, a perfect mix of delight, debate, and outright chaos. Many users couldn't contain their excitement over the creativity.

One thrilled user declared: “This whole thing looks like AI. Did they just pull scenes from FRIENDS and add AI generated Bollywood actors to the scenes? Wonderful depiction... This looks awesome!”

Another fan gushed: “Rage bait? Why is this the best thing ever? And I’m a Friends fannnn hahaha. Love this!”

The family twist didn't go unnoticed either, with one user laughing: “Ranbir and Kareena being cousins is cherry on top for Ross and Monica.”

Nostalgia hit hard for some, as one commenter noted: “Priyanka Chopra from 2009 looked so much like Rachel.”

But not everyone was on board, the casting sparked plenty of pushback. A vocal critic fired off: “Worst Bollywood cast for Friends. Varun as Ross, Aamir as Chandler and Kangana as Phoebe make no sense but the worst was Kareena as Monica.”

Others added their own idea, like: “Young Salman would be perfect for Joey.”

Even amid the back-and-forth, the clip proved irresistible, fans admitted to laughing, arguing, and rewatching on loop. Whether it's seen as genius fan art or pure chaos, this AI mashup has turned a beloved show into fresh internet fuel, proving once again that mixing nostalgia, Bollywood glamour, and generative tech is a recipe for viral gold.
