Adobe has introduced Photoshop, Adobe Express and Adobe Acrobat inside ChatGPT, expanding access to its most widely used creative and productivity tools. The rollout makes these apps available to ChatGPT’s 800 million weekly users and positions conversational editing as a new entry point for creative work.

Adobe said the launch builds on its advances in agentic AI, enabling anyone to retouch images, craft designs or refine documents simply by describing what they want through natural language.

The company has extended core functions of Photoshop, Express and Acrobat into ChatGPT so users can make conversational edits or switch to Adobe’s visual controls such as sliders when needed. The experience is designed to guide users seamlessly, whether they want to blur a background, enhance a design, or extract content from a PDF. Access begins by typing the app’s name followed by an instruction, after which ChatGPT surfaces the relevant tool and supports the user through the process.

Adobe noted that its integration aligns with its broader strategy to build conversational and AI-powered workflows across its ecosystem. Earlier this year, the company launched Acrobat Studio to turn PDFs into interactive workspaces and introduced AI Assistants for Photoshop and Adobe Express at Adobe MAX. It also previewed an upcoming Firefly AI Assistant designed to help creators move ideas quickly across multiple Adobe apps.

The ChatGPT integration aims to reach new audiences who may not have used Adobe tools before. Photoshop inside ChatGPT allows fine-tuning of image elements and application of creative effects while retaining image quality. Adobe Express lets users generate and personalise designs within the chat, and Acrobat enables PDF edits, file conversions, organisation and redaction.

Adobe apps for ChatGPT are free and available globally across desktop, web and iOS, with Express already on Android and Photoshop and Acrobat support for Android coming soon. The apps are accessible in regions where OpenAI’s Apps SDK is live, excluding the UK and EU. Users can move from ChatGPT to Adobe’s native apps at any point, though work created in ChatGPT will not sync to Creative Cloud or Acrobat accounts.
