ZapakMail, the email service from Zapak.com, has announced that the service received registrations from 1,15,263 users on May 4. The company estimates that this is the largest number of registered users garnered by any website on any given day, and the gaming portal is checking with Guinness Book of Records for International Statistics.
The service was running in a beta stage and the logo was rolled out across 110 locations in 33 cities, along with a teaser viral campaign on online trade sites like exchange4media.com.
Commenting on the response, Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak Digital Entertainment, remarked, “This is by far the highest number of registrations any website has garnered on one day.”
Speaking on the future marketing plans for the service, Sharma elaborated, “We plan to roll out our mass media campaign from May 9, before which we conducted a teaser seeding with our TVC and virals that has resulted in this such a response.”
“This is the first time that a mail service is using six to seven different creative routes to reach out to the masses and it has paid of for us,” he added.
The official communiqué noted that registrations have come in not only from the metros that have contributed to 45 per cent to the total number, but from tier II locations too like Surat, Jamshedpur Vizag, Jabalpur, Nashik, etc.
