National Wildlife Day (September 4)
National Wildlife Day is dedicated to Steve Irwin, the famous conservationist who also ran various TV shows like The Crocodile Hunter. Television was a strong platform back then: it was used by various conservationists like Gerald Durrell and Sir Richard Attenborough to raise awareness as well as funds for the protection of wildlife.
Cut to today. Digital campaigns are taking the mission of conservation to the masses. From making messages go viral to collect signatures for online petitions to raising funds to mobilizing people for protests - every single thing matters when it comes to influencing policymakers and policy decisions.
If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’d know about change.org’s campaign regarding putting pressure on the Bolsonaro’s government to take action to save the Amazon rainforest. Four days of campaign. Three million signatures.

Quiet Day! An occasion to reflect on turmoil through being quiet. This kind of quiet is associated with wellbeing and meditation.

Yet, there’s another kind of quiet. If you’re quiet, you’re likely to be consuming some content: reading a blog, watching a video, or listening to a podcast. This quiet reflects attention which is the new currency. Old news now. But still. Attention is measured through stickiness. If you imagine your website is the greatest wonder in the world, that the users are hooked to it, clicking away quietly to the product page, adding stuff to the cart, and hitting the “Buy Now” button, get a reality check. There are too many things distracting users. How do you know if you have their quiet, attentive time? Through stickiness.

Batman Day (September 15)
Batman first appeared in 1939. Yes, dear friends, he’s an 80-years old sensation! The many adaptations of the Batman comic as film, TV series & games are a lesson in repurposing in the digital context. You take one of your performing assets (say a blog) & reuse it in a different format (say ebook, or video etc.) across different platforms/channels. But we have to keep in mind that simply copy-pasting content from one platform to another does not work. We have to fine-tune it according to the platform and the audience.
