A recent report by a tech publication claimed Tanmay Bhat was currently the richest YouTuber in India, with Technical Guruji coming second at a reported net worth of Rs 356 crore. As the numbers went viral on social media, Tanmay himself responded on X, saying, “Bhai itne paise hote toh main YouTube membership nahi bech raha hota.”
A thread that joins the YouTubers on the top 10 list is surely their journeys. While all started on YouTube they made it big by using the platform as a launchpad to grow into media entrepreneurs, building mini empires through merchandise, sponsorships, events, courses, and other branded ventures.
As per the report, Tanmay’s total income stands at Rs 665 crore. He has 5.2 million subscribers on YT and is known for his comedy sketches, reaction videos, live streams, and podcasts. Through his agency Moonshot, Tanmay turns internet culture and memes into engaging advertising campaigns. Interestingly, a significant part of his wealth comes not from YouTube directly, but from brand collaborations, campaigns, and other ventures.

YouTube's introduction of Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) is transforming how creators monetize their content. This feature allows creators to insert, replace, or remove brand segments in long-form videos even after publication, turning static content into dynamic, revenue-generating assets. Instead of permanently "baking in" sponsorships, creators can now offer swappable ad slots, enabling them to resell these spaces to different brands over time. This flexibility is particularly beneficial for targeting specific audiences in various markets and adjusting content to reflect seasonal promotions. Additionally, DAI facilitates real-time ad personalization, enhancing viewer engagement and optimizing revenue potential. YouTube plans to begin testing this feature with a select group of creators early next year, with a broader rollout anticipated later in 2026.
The platform’s CEO Neal Mohan called India a rising Creator Nation at the WAVES Summit 2025 in Mumbai, revealing that YouTube has paid over 21,000 crore to Indian creators, artists, and media companies over the past three years, with another 850 crore earmarked for investment in the next two years.
