On a broader note, Mauj Mobile claims to have witnessed over 250 per cent growth in 2009 over the previous year.

Ravikumar Gilganchi has joined Kasthuri TV as National Sales Head. He will be based out of Bangalore. Gilganchi moves from ETV Network Channels, where he had two stints including the initial phase of his career. Following this, he moved to Zee Network where he was looking after the ad sales of Zee Kannada and Zee Telugu. He then joined Tata Teleservices, and back to ETV again.
The Seventh Digital Marketing Roundtable organised by IAMAI and eBay India was held on November 18, 2009 in Mumbai. The roundtable discussed ‘Common mistakes of digital marketing’. The panellists were Lloyd Mathias, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Teleservices; Kartik Jain, Head Marketing and eChannel, ICICI Lombard; Manish Vij, Co-Founder, Quasar Media; Peshwa Acharya, VP and Head Marketing and Consumer Experience, Reliance Retail. The session was moderated by Ambareesh Murty, Country Manager, eBay India.
Media agencies are going through a rough time because of the pricing issues and financial pressure. In a conversation with exchange4media, David Klien, Publishing and Editorial Director, Advertising Age, said that in this challenging environment, media agencies in India should get marketers to spend more on advertising.
“Over 500 TV channels have permission to beam into Indian homes. When there is such an invasion into our rooms, there is a need for a content debate as we, being the representatives of people, are answerable to Parliament and others on the sensitivities of people,” said Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni. The Minister was addressing a gathering at the FICCI organised Media & Entertainment Business Conclave 2009 in Chennai.
