Suparna Singh steps down as NDTV CEO
Singh was acting as the interim CEO as her appointment was yet to get MIB’s approval
Suparna Singh has stepped down from the position of interim CEO of NDTV with immediate effect. This was informed by the company through a regulatory filing. It is understood that Singh only resigned from the post of interim CEO and she will continue in NDTV as a journalist.
NDTV revealed that pursuant to a board resolution on December 4, 2017, Singh was appointed the CEO subject to the receipt of requisite approval from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The ministry is yet to give the approval, and so Singh was acting as the interim CEO.
"This approval was promptly applied for on December 12, 2017, but has not yet been received. Subsequently, Ms. Suparna Singh and the company entered into an appointment agreement to appoint Ms. Singh as the CEO, where the appointment was conditional upon receipt of such approval. Accordingly, Ms. Suparna Singh has been acting as interim CEO during this interregnum," the filing stated.
The regulatory filing also mentioned that the matter will be placed before the Board & Committee members for consideration. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
