Shoppers Stop FY25 net profit drops 86% despite 7% revenue growth

Shoppers Stop reported a sharp decline in annual net profit for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, even as revenue from operations registered moderate growth.
The company posted a net profit of Rs 10.89 crore in FY25, plunging 85.9% from Rs 77.25 crore in the previous year. This came despite a 7.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue from operations, which rose to Rs 4,627.64 crore from Rs 4,316.59 crore in FY24. Total income for the year stood at Rs 4,681.76 crore, up 7.1% from Rs 4,372.41 crore.
Total expenses for the year rose 12.9% to Rs 3,082.06 crore, compared to Rs 2,730.98 crore in the previous fiscal, which significantly impacted bottom-line growth.
For the quarter ended March 31, 2025 (Q4 FY25), revenue from operations stood at Rs 1,064 crore, a marginal 1.7% increase over Rs 1,046.34 crore in the same quarter last year.
However, net profit for Q4 dropped 91.4% to Rs 1.99 crore, compared to Rs 23.18 crore in Q4 FY24. Total income for the quarter remained flat at Rs 1,082.28 crore, up just 0.1% YoY.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 52.23 crore in the preceding quarter (Q3 FY25), indicating a significant sequential dip in profitability as well.
