Priyanka Sehgal, who was till April, 2019 working with Network 18 as the Vice President, Content and Strategy, and Digital, has entered the media-tech space with the launch of her firm LitDigital.

In an exclusive interview with exchange4media, the newly-minted entrepreneur, says, “I believe in the concept of being unique. Being a bit of an ‘Unstereotype’ and being a non-conformist helps. That has been a part of who I have been personally and professionally over the years and I want to bring the same value to LitDigital where we seek to unstereotype every single metric that defines content creation, measurement and monetization today. We want to help SMEs who build great products but are unable to create content and campaigns and an effective digital strategy to accentuate revenue.”

She adds, “We are helping them further their value proposition. We help define their market offerings and unlock their potential by creating and monetizing their content for them. This includes films, videos and IPs which we create, distribute and amplify. It helps them engage with their target audiences in a defined manner. We do the same for brands across sectors too. LitDigital is all about ideas that last. We carve out digital strategy from transformation to marketing. We enable with technology, and are in the process of developing some unique tech focused on Transformation.”

LitDigital will also have a big role to play in the technology space, apart from advising brands on it. Sehgal elaborates, “We have invested in a big way in technology and soon will be launching our own product in the technology space globally called The Happy Hour. This has the potential to transform not only mindsets, but also culture in a very big way”

However Sehgal is currently tight-lipped about it.

Explaining the thought behind the name of the firm, Sehgal says, “Lit means absolutely amazing in every sense of the word and that’s why our company is called LitDigital. Personally, I’d say disruptive is now discerning, be unique, ensure you have ideas that last and keep adapting. That’s who we are!”

A few months ago she tweeted that she wanted to build a company where everyone shared the profits, every single resource, where everyone felt they owned it and could work towards making it the best workplace ever, a place they could call home.

Today Sehgal and her team are already working with some leading brands in the BFSI and FMCG space to implement that thought.

In her 21 years of experience, Sehgal has gained expertise in content, strategy, product and revenue. She has helped set up and run some of the leading TV channels and digital platforms, created, produced and directed award winning programmes and content at NDTV, ET NOW, Times Now and Network 18.

Sehgal was instrumental in setting up some of the leading television channels during her past stints at NDTV and Times Network.

She is credited with new and evolving programming which led to a turnaround in ratings and revenue. Sehgal has also received many awards like the Smartest Digital Marketing Leader In India by the World Digital Marketing Congress and Awards and is amongst the influential content marketing leaders in India. She was amongst the top 50 Most influential Digital Marketer & Top 50 Influential Content Marketing leaders in India as per CMO Asia.

Sehgal is on the advisory board of a variety of start-ups and is an alumnus of Columbia Business School.
