One Club to hold the second annual Creative Week in NYC from May 10-16
The One Club has announced the initial line-up for the second annual Creative Week, which will take place in New York City from May 10 to May 16, 2010. Creative Week is a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and the arts. Creative Week NYC events can be registered at www.creativeweeknyc.org.
The One Club has announced the initial line-up for the second annual Creative Week, which will take place in New York City from May 10 to May 16, 2010. Creative Week is a celebration of creativity in advertising, design, digital media and the arts. The One Club and the Creative Week Board of Advisors invite all organisations involved in the creative life of New York City – museums, theater and dance companies, advertising and design agencies, bands, filmmakers, etc. – to participate by hosting an event.
Creative Week NYC events can be registered at www.creativeweeknyc.org. Events can include, but are not limited to, lectures, presentations, screenings, demonstrations, lunches and get-togethers. There are no fees to participate, and all events are independently planned and staged by the participating organisations. All events will be promoted on the Creative Week Site. Creative Week and selected individual events will be highlighted at Flavorpill.com, a media partner for Creative Week.
Kevin Swanepoel, President of The One Club, explained, “Creative Week began when we saw that the 4,000-5,000 creative professionals that we were bringing to New York each year for the One Show Festival, presented an excellent opportunity for New York’s creative organisations to attract an enthusiastic and influential new audience to their events.”
Currently, scheduled Creative Week events include ‘Shoot’ magazine’s Directors Symposium and 8th Annual New Directors Showcase Event, The New York Photo Festival, and a performance by noted composer Pauline Oliveros. A retrospective exhibit will showcase advertising agency Doner and the innovative TV advertising campaigns and slogans that helped make them famous. Also expected are Creative Week events from the Brooklyn Art Project, The Paley Center, The Type Director’s Club, the Art Director's Club and a series of guided tours to prominent Chelsea art galleries by Art Reoriented.
The One Club will also host a series of events during Creative Week. Their award shows – One Show Design (May 10) the One Show (May 13) and One Show Interactive (May 14) – award the finest advertising and design created throughout the year. On May 12-13, the One Club’s 2nd annual Creative unConference will bring together 300 advertising creatives and digital artists in a flexible, participant driven format to share ideas and explore opportunities that are emerging in the shifting media landscape.
