India is expected to see one of the sharpest increases in media prices globally, with costs projected to rise by 9% in both 2025 and 2026, the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) Outlook has found in its biannual survey of global marketing leaders.
The report highlights a divergence between emerging and mature markets. While global media inflation is stabilizing at around 4%, India and Eastern Europe stand out as outliers, with Eastern Europe leading at 11%.
The surge in India’s media costs is being driven by rising audience value, increased advertiser demand, and competition for premium inventory. In contrast, developed economies such as the US (3-4%), UK (3%), and Western Europe (4-5%) are witnessing easing inflation, aided by cautious advertiser spending and efficiency gains in digital media buying.
Across markets, video continues to be the most inflationary channel.
