On Women’s Day, it's only fitting to celebrate Anupriya Acharya, a powerhouse in the Indian advertising landscape. As the CEO of Publicis Groupe, South Asia, she has not only shaped the industry's growth but also paved the way for countless women to rise in leadership.
Known for her insightful perspectives and dynamic presence, Acharya has built a legacy of innovation and influence. Her work spans across genres, connecting with diverse audiences and driving impactful conversations in the industry.
In her current role, Anupriya leads Publicis Groupe’s operations across South Asia, overseeing its agencies spanning creative, media, PR, digital, and tech. This includes renowned names such as Leo Burnett, L&K Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH, Starcom, Zenith, MSL, Performics, and Digitas.
With over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketing, she is a seasoned media and advertising professional. She joined Publicis Groupe in 2013 as Group CEO of Zenith Optimedia before taking on the role of Publicis Media India CEO in 2016. Prior to Publicis, she held senior leadership positions at WPP in India and Aegis Media in Singapore.
Anupriya plays an active role in the industry and currently serves as the President of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), the apex trade body for advertising agencies. She was re-elected to the position in September 2021 and also holds board memberships at BARC and DB Corp.
She holds a postgraduate degree in Chemistry from IIT Roorkee. Her journey reflects hard work and authenticity, solidifying her reputation as a key industry leader.
