Five months after joining Zoo Media, Anita Kotwani, Senior Partner - Growth, has shared how the experience has reshaped her perspective on leadership and business building.

In a LinkedIn post, Kotwani reflected on her journey, saying that after spending years leading businesses as CEO, Group CEO and Chief Client Officer across large agency networks, working closely with founders has been both "humbling and enriching."

She said her earlier roles taught her the importance of scale, governance, talent, systems and sustainable growth. However, partnering with founders has given her a deeper appreciation of the entrepreneurial mindset.

According to Kotwani, founders view every opportunity, risk and investment through a deeply personal lens because they are building something they have created from the ground up. She described their sense of ownership, bias for action and long-term vision as inspiring. Kotwani also said she has learned the importance of thinking beyond established frameworks, embracing possibility before certainty, and remaining focused on growth while staying committed to culture and people.

At the same time, she noted that leaders from large agency groups bring valuable experience to founder-led businesses. She said their expertise in managing scale, complexity, organisational transformation and talent development helps strengthen execution and sustainable growth.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Kotwani wrote that the "real magic" lies in the partnership between founders and experienced business leaders. While founders contribute entrepreneurial energy and conviction, leaders with experience in large organisations bring perspective, process and pattern recognition.

She concluded by saying that five months into her journey at Zoo Media, she is grateful for the learning and believes that great businesses are built when different experiences and viewpoints come together with trust and a shared ambition.
