Reliance Communications hunts for creative partner for its GSM and CDMA mobile biz

Reliance Communications India (RComm) has called for a creative pitch for its GSM and CDMA mobile business. The business is estimated to be upwards of Rs 200 crore. It is learnt that the agencies taking part in the pitch include DDB Mudra, JWT and incumbent agency Cartwheel. Senior sources close to the development have confirmed the news.

The media business for Reliance Communications is being handled by Mudra Max.

The pitch will involve three rounds of presentations. The brief given to the agencies is to build the brand and taking it to the next level.

It may be recalled that in November 2008, RComm had made it clear that they were closely following the ‘club-agency’ concept, with every business assigned to a lead agency. Thus, following this decision, Cartwheel had been handling the Reliance Mobile business, including the GSM and CDMA services, while Leo Burnett is handling the creative duties of Reliance’s DTH service, Big TV.
