Xavier Chardon named CEO of Citroën

Xavier Chardon has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Citroën brand, effective June 2, 2025.
He will report to Jean-Philippe Imparato, Enlarged Europe Chief Operating Officer, Stellantis
He joined PSA in 1994 and began his career at Citroën in Italy, then after various positions at the brand's headquarters, took over responsibility for Citroën in Denmark in 2001, then in Germany in 2004. He was then Director of Marketing, Press and Public Relations from 2007 to 2009 before becoming Managing Director of Citroën France, a position he held until 2011.
Xavier Chardon joined Volkswagen AG in 2012 as Vice President of European Sales and then took over global responsibility for marketing and communications in 2014. Appointed Vice President of Marketing and Customers in charge of the Volkswagen brand in 2016, Chardon then joined Volkswagen China to lead the "Project House Digitalization" from 2017 to 2018 before taking over as Vice President of Sales and Marketing of the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture. Back in France in 2021, he became Chairman of the Management Board of Volkswagen Group France.
Returning to Citroën in his new role, Xavier Chardon will be responsible for continuing the development of the brand by building on the recent launches of the C3, C3 Aircross and the all-new C5 Aircross.
