Siddharth Shekhar has shared on LinkedIn that he has stepped into a new role as Director, LCS at Google India. In this expanded position, he will be responsible for leading key sectors such as government and public sector, banking and financial services, education, and the automotive industry.

Announcing the move, Shekhar said he is excited to take on the role of Director, LCS, Google India, and highlighted that his responsibilities will now extend to managing sectors that play a critical role in India’s economy, including government, BFSI, education and auto.

He also noted that the timing of this transition makes it especially meaningful. With rapid progress in Google’s AI capabilities, Shekhar said there is a strong opportunity to work closely with industry partners to solve complex challenges and deliver clear, measurable business impact. He added that he looks forward to helping organisations use these tools to transform and grow.

Before this promotion, Shekhar was the Industry Head for Technology, Media and Entertainment, and Telecom at Google. Earlier in his career, he spent close to four years with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd and over three years at Disney Star, along with roles at several other organisations.
