General Mills India has appointed Shiva Krishnamurthy as its new Chief Executive Officer. He brings around 25 years of experience from Unilever and was most recently the Executive Director for Foods and Refreshment at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL).

Krishnamurthy announced his new role through a LinkedIn post, where he shared his excitement about joining General Mills. He said he looks forward to contributing to the company’s purpose of creating food that people love, supported by strong brands, advanced food science, and a culture that encourages learning and growth. He also added that he aims to build further on the strong base created by the leadership before him.

Shiva Krishnamurthy began his journey with HUL in 2000, starting as an Area Sales Manager for detergents in West Bengal. Over the next two decades, he moved through several senior roles and developed strong expertise in marketing and business leadership. In 2015, he was promoted to Vice President – Foods and Beverages for South Asia, a position he held for more than nine years before taking on his latest role.
