Senior journalist Naveen Gautam has joined Hindi daily Navabharat, marking a new chapter in his three-decade-long media career. He has taken up the role of Special Correspondent in the newspaper’s National Bureau and will be reporting out of Delhi.
Originally from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, Gautam began his journalism journey in 1996 with Dainik Jagran, where he spent over 24 years in various roles. During his long tenure, he covered a wide range of political and civic beats, including Delhi government affairs, municipal issues, national elections, and ministries such as Urban Development. He also served as Bureau Chief in both Delhi and Gurugram during this time.
Post Dainik Jagran, Gautam worked as a Special Correspondent with Urdu daily Roznama Mera Watan in 2019, and later joined Metro Media (a national Hindi daily) in 2020 in a similar capacity.
Beyond journalism, Gautam has held advisory roles in the government. He was part of the Telecom Advisory Committee and the Task Force for the Ministry of Food Processing Industries during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure. In Narendra Modi’s first term as Prime Minister, he was appointed to the Defence Ministry’s Central Hindi Advisory Committee by then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
