Milred Royan, Executive Vice President – Entertainment Ad Sales for Kannada, Telugu and FTA GEC at JioStar, has decided to leave the company after more than two decades with the network, according to sources close to the development.
Royan’s last working day at JioStar will be in August, the sources told e4m.
Royan has spent over 23 years with the Star network, having joined the organisation in August 2003 as Manager – Sales. Over the course of her career, she has held several leadership roles across sales and advertising, building a strong presence in the regional and free-to-air television businesses.
Before taking up her current role at JioStar, Royan served as Executive Director at Disney Star from December 2021 to February 2025. She was also the National Sales Head and held senior sales leadership positions across the network.
In February 2025, Royan took on the role of Executive Director at JioStar, where she was responsible for the LCS (Large Customer Segment) business for TV and digital, managing key sectors including e-commerce, quick commerce, media and entertainment, BFSI and retail.
She subsequently moved into her current role as Executive Vice President – Entertainment Ad Sales, Kannada, Telugu and FTA GEC, in November 2025.
Royan began her career in media with The Times of India, where she worked from 1995 to 2000 across brands and properties including Saturday Times, Femina, Filmfare and the Femina Miss India event. She then spent over three years with Sony, handling the South branch for Sony, SET Max and AXN, before joining Star in 2003.
During her tenure with Star and subsequently Disney Star and JioStar, Royan held a range of sales leadership roles, including Branch Head – South, National Head – FTA, Vice President – Sales and Senior Vice President – Ad Sales.
Her exit marks the departure of a senior sales executive who has spent a significant part of her career with the Star network and has been closely associated with its regional, FTA and national advertising businesses.
