Luminous Power Technologies has named Vivek Abrol as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment taking effect on January 19, 2026.
In his new role, Abrol will steer the company’s next phase of growth with an emphasis on profitability, while guiding Luminous’ transition into a comprehensive consumer energy solutions platform. His mandate includes scaling up the company’s solar and sustainable energy businesses, consolidating leadership in the inverter and battery segments, and investing in emerging and next-generation technologies. A key focus will be on strengthening innovation, driving digital-first transformation, and building an agile, inclusive organisation designed to deliver superior customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

A seasoned business leader with more than 25 years of experience—nearly 10 of them at the helm as CEO—he brings a strong track record across FMCG, stationery and electricals. He began his professional journey at ITC Ltd, spending 16 years in a range of cross-functional leadership roles where he helped build and scale FMCG businesses. He subsequently held senior positions, including Business Head and CEO, at companies such as Pidilite Industries Ltd and RR Kabel Ltd, managing operations end to end across diverse sectors.
Most recently, as CEO of RR Kabel’s Consumer Electricals (FMEG) business, he led a period of rapid transformation, growing the business fivefold over a 4.5-year period. His tenure was defined by product-led innovation across categories including fans, lighting, geysers, room heaters and coolers. In addition, his role at RR Kabel provided him with hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions, as well as a central role in executing the company’s successful initial public offering.
