Leo Burnett ropes in Juhi Chaturvedi as ECD

Author, columnist, speaker, script writer and a passionate creative professional all rolled into one, Juhi Chaturvedi has joined Leo Burnett as Executive Creative Director.

Her last stint was with Bates Asia.

Chaturvedi started her journey with Ogilvy Delhi in 1997 and in 1999 moved to its Mumbai office. She then moved to Ogilvy Bangalore as Art Director and gradually shifted to copywriting as Ogilvy Bangalore needed copywriters who could write in Hindi. After this, she joined McCann Erickson as Creative Director, followed by a short stint at Lowe Lintas and Partners in Mumbai.

Commenting on Chaturvedi’s appointment, KV Sridhar, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett India and Sub Continent said, “Juhi’s appointment is a very important addition for us. However much people think we are interested in awards, we have a very wide range of brands we work on – from KBC and Whisper to Complan, and we need people who understand people, this is very critical. Juhi is one of the senior creative people who has rich insights about life, which is also showcased in her work in films. I strongly believe that people who understand people tell stronger stories, whether it is in 30 seconds or three hours.”

“I was fortunate to begin my journey with Ogilvy where I grew up in an excellent creative environment with some of the best people in the industry as my seniors. They gave me confidence and the wings to fly. Once I moved out of that wonderful home, I had my short stints with McCann and Bates, and then when I got a call from LB, it felt like a great opportunity to reinvent myself. I have always looked up to Nitesh’s (Tiwari) work…I have always respected Pops. There is Ashwini Iyer, who is doing great work on KBC. This agency is buzzing with so much creative energy of young talented minds that I just couldn’t resist being part of this team. I am looking forward to all the challenges and opportunities this place has to offer,” said Chaturvedi.

She completed her graduation in Fine Arts, and since then has had firm roots in the advertising business. She has been in the industry for about 14 years now.

It be maybe recalled that Chaturvedi was also on IMPACT’s Top 50 Women’s list for 2013. She has been with Leo Burnett for around three week now and is already working on three brands, which include the entire Heinz portfolio, Glucon D, Complan and all its sub brands.

Chaturvedi made waves with last year’s much talked about and acclaimed Bollywood movie ‘Vicky Donor’, which she scripted. She was also awarded the IRDS Film Award for social concern for the story, told through ‘Vicky Donor’, along with Filmfare, IIFA, Star Guild, and National Awards.

Along with pursuing her passion in the advertising world, Chaturvedi continues to pursue her love for films with soon to be releasing ‘Madras Café’ (Dialogues) and many more in the pipeline.
