Kiran Mani will be moving out of JioStar this week.

The CEO-Digital at JioStar will be joining OpenAI to spearhead its Asia-Pacific expansion.

Mani will take over as Managing Director for Asia-Pacific in June, and will be based out of Singapore. He will report to Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon.

In a social media post, Kiran Mani wrote about his experience at Jiostar and how  "Uday Shankar and Akash Ambani changed the way I think about ambition".

Mani has over two decades of experience in technology and digital ecosystems.

Prior to JioStar, he was with Google for 13 years. His earlier stints include stints at Microsoft and IBM.

Mani’s appointment is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping OpenAI’s regional strategy.
