JioStar Group has appointed Emmy Award–winning creative leader Stephan Bugaj as Senior Vice President – GenAI Content & Technology. The move supports the company’s focus on building AI-first content experiences and shaping the next wave of digital entertainment.

In his new role, Bugaj will help develop smart content systems, interactive storytelling formats and scalable creative models. His work will support faster innovation, deeper audience interaction and the creation of future-ready entertainment experiences for global audiences.

Before joining JioStar, Bugaj served as Chief Creative Officer at Genvid Entertainment, where he played a key role in creating the Massively Interactive Live Event (MILE) format. This model blends streaming, gaming and live audience participation. He also led the development of AI-driven creative tools and workflows for filmmakers, and headed interactive storytelling projects that combined real-time audience engagement with high-quality narratives.

With over 30 years of experience, Bugaj has held senior creative and technology roles at organisations such as Pixar Animation Studios, Telltale Games, DJ2 Entertainment and Hanson Robotics. He is known for turning emerging technologies into practical, scalable platforms. His expertise spans AI-based content systems, interactive story design, digital production pipelines and immersive media experiences.

JioStar Group has already begun integrating AI across its content platforms, including conversational features, second-screen experiences and AI-supported production processes. Bugaj’s appointment is expected to further speed up innovation, especially in interactive and digital-first formats designed for large audiences.
