Gurmeet Singh elevated to newly-created post of Head – HT Mumbai edition
Gurmeet Singh has been promoted as Head of Hindustan Times Mumbai edition. He was earlier looking after ad revenues for the Western region. Singh will be directly reporting to Salil Sadanandan, Business Head (West and South), Hindustan Times.
Gurmeet Singh has been promoted as Head of Hindustan Times Mumbai edition. He was earlier looking after ad revenues for the Western region. Singh is directly reporting to Salil Sadanandan, Business Head (West and South), Hindustan Times. He took charge from August 1, 2010.
The post that Singh now holds has been newly created to bring greater focus on the HT Mumbai edition. Confirming this development, Sadanandan said, “The Mumbai market is very strategic for us. Most of the investment we had made over the years has paid off. The idea behind the promotion of Singh is to have someone totally focused on the Mumbai edition.”
“The Mumbai edition has shown significant progress in both readership and revenues. Gurmeet will bring the required leadership bandwidth and focus to execute the aggressive plans that have been put in place,” said another HT spokesperson.
Singh is a management graduate from FMS, Delhi University and completed his Engineering from Osmania University. He has earlier donned pivotal roles in various companies like his stint as CEO, Rajshri Media Pvt Ltd; Business Director, The India Today Group; and Regional Manager with Sony BMG.
