DSP Asset Managers Private Limited (DSPAM) has appointed Komal Narang as its Head of Distribution, succeeding Usha Nair, who is set to retire from the company.
In her new position, Narang will oversee DSPAM’s distribution operations and strategy, with a focus on strengthening its network of distribution partners and widening investor access to the asset manager’s range of investment offerings across India.
Narang brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, spanning sales, distribution, customer engagement and business development. She joins DSPAM from JioBlackRock Mutual Fund, where she was Chief Client Officer and was responsible for sales, marketing and digital initiatives, according to a company statement.
Before joining JioBlackRock, Narang spent more than a decade with ICICI Prudential Asset Management in various senior roles. As Head – Customer Engagement, she was responsible for building and driving the asset manager’s B2C business. She previously served as Head – Business Development, where she led the organised distribution channel.
Narang began her career in leadership roles in sales and distribution at ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. Her earlier experience also includes stints at Kotak Life Insurance and Indiabulls.
At DSPAM, Narang will be responsible for distribution across multiple channels, strategic partnerships and distribution marketing. Her mandate will include expanding and strengthening relationships across the distribution network, while enhancing investor engagement as DSPAM continues to grow its footprint across the country.
Kalpen Parekh, MD & CEO, DSP Asset Managers, said, “Distribution is much more than a channel for growth. It is how we build trust with investors through long-term relationships with our partners. As investor needs continue to evolve, so must the way we support and engage with our distribution ecosystem. Our Distributor Success Framework goes beyond communication and campaigns. Through this initiative, we share practical growth marketing frameworks that help our partners address real business challenges and grow their practices. It is built on a simple belief: when we help distributors build stronger businesses, we build deeper and more enduring partnerships. Komal brings deep experience across distribution, customer engagement and business development, and we look forward to taking this approach to many more partners across India under her leadership.”
Komal Narang, Head – Distribution, DSP Asset Managers, said, “DSP’s long-term, investor-first philosophy strongly resonates with me. Distribution partners play a vital role in helping investors achieve their financial goals, and I believe our role goes beyond simply offering investment solutions. It is also about bringing meaningful value to our partners through our investment insights, expertise and understanding of investor needs. I look forward to working closely with our distribution partners to deepen relationships, expand access to investment solutions and create a consistent, high-quality experience for investors. I’m excited to join DSP at this stage of its growth journey and contribute to building an even stronger distribution platform."
