Surjo Dutt named CEO of Dentsu Creative Webchutney

- Surjo Dutt has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Creative Webchutney while retaining his position as Chief Creative Officer.
- In his new role, Dutt will focus on the agency's growth, client relationships, and the integration of creativity with business expansion.
- Indrajeet Mookherjee, the former CEO, has transitioned to the role of President - Integrated Client Management for South clients at Dentsu.
- Dutt expressed pride in his journey at Dentsu and emphasized a commitment to leading with empathy, teamwork, and creativity as the agency works with over 70 brands.
Dentsu has promoted Surjo Dutt as the Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Creative Webchutney. He will continue to serve as Chief Creative Officer along with his new responsibilities.
In his expanded role, Dutt will lead the agency’s future growth plans, strengthen client relationships and focus on both creative and business expansion. He will continue reporting to Amit Wadhwa, CEO South, Dentsu Creative and Media Brands.
Meanwhile, Indrajeet Mookherjee, who was previously serving as CEO, has moved into a new role as President - Integrated Client Management for South clients at Dentsu.
Speaking on the appointment, Harsha Razdan, CEO, South Asia, Dentsu, said that strong ideas come from curiosity and original thinking. He added that while technology and AI are changing the creative industry by bringing speed and scale, creativity and emotional understanding will always remain human strengths. According to him, Surjo’s leadership will help combine human creativity with the power of artificial intelligence to take the agency forward.
Amit Wadhwa said that having a creative leader head the company reflects the agency’s strong focus on creativity. He added that Surjo brings deep creative talent, experience and a leadership approach that encourages teams to perform at their best.
Commenting on his promotion, Surjo Dutt said that his three-year journey at Dentsu Creative Webchutney has been filled with support, positivity and openness. He shared that the agency works with more than 70 brands across different sectors and has a large team spread across locations. He added that he feels proud to be part of the organisation and looks forward to leading the next phase of growth with empathy, teamwork and creativity.
