David Lang has announced his departure from WPP Media after an extraordinary 20-year journey. During his time with the organization, which spanned across GroupM and Mindshare, Lang played a pivotal role in shaping its content division and driving impactful work.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity, describing his two decades as an amazing ride filled with collaboration, creativity, and lasting relationships. Lang last held the role of Chief Creative and Experiences Officer, GroupM, NA.
"After 20 years, I am leaving WPP Media (aka GroupM/Mindshare). I am so grateful and appreciative for the opportunity to go on this amazing ride and wanted to take a moment to celebrate the amazing work and people I’ve gotten to collaborate with over the past two decades", the LinkedIn post read.
As he moves on from WPP Media, Lang took a moment to celebrate the people and projects that defined his career. One of Lang’s proudest achievements was building the Mindshare Content team, known in its early days as Mindshare Entertainment. Under the mentorship of Peter Tortorici, whom he described as the best boss one could ask for, Lang was able to establish and lead a team that went beyond traditional workplace dynamics. He credited this environment as being more like a family, where the bonds formed with colleagues often extended well past professional boundaries.
