- In her new role, she will oversee the financial strategy for BBC Public Service, BBC Studios, and commercial businesses, joining the senior leadership team and the Board.
- Michel brings 16 years of experience from the John Lewis Partnership, where she held various senior roles, and has prior experience at Royal Mail Group.

The BBC has announced that Bérangère Michel has been appointed to the role of Group Chief Financial Officer.
In her expanded role, Bérangère will lead the overall financial strategy for the BBC Group, covering BBC Public Service, BBC Studios, and the organisation’s commercial businesses. She will be part of the BBC’s senior leadership team and will sit on both the Executive Committee and, for the first time, the Board.
The role is aimed at strengthening the BBC’s financial leadership, supporting its ongoing transformation, and ensuring effective use of the licence fee alongside commercial revenues. Bérangère will report directly to the Director-General and is set to take up the position in early January.
Bérangère brings deep experience from her 16 years at the John Lewis Partnership, where she held several senior leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer, Customer Service Executive Director, Operations Director, and Finance and Strategy Director.
Before joining John Lewis, she spent 11 years at Royal Mail Group, working across finance, strategy, and transformation roles, including serving as Finance Director of the property division.
