Ashutosh Chaturvedi, Editor-in-Chief of Prabhat Khabar, has been appointed as a Central Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission (CIC). He is set to assume office from December 15.
Chaturvedi has been at the helm of Prabhat Khabar for almost nine years, bringing with him nearly four decades of experience in journalism. Prior to joining Prabhat Khabar, he served as Executive Editor at Amar Ujala.
He began his career with Maya as a trainee and went on to work with India Today, Sunday Observer, Dainik Jagran, and Amar Ujala. Chaturvedi has also worked with the BBC, spending three years at BBC London and five years at BBC Delhi. He has served as Delhi Bureau Chief for Amar Ujala and gained extensive experience in reporting, newspaper production, and website management.
Over his career, Chaturvedi has handled numerous prominent domestic and international assignments, accompanying India’s President and other senior officials. He was also instrumental in the launch of the BBC Hindi website.
