Axis Max Life Insurance Limited (earlier known as Max Life Insurance Company Limited) has appointed Sumit Madan as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.
He will assume his new responsibilities effective October 1, 2025, taking over from the current MD & CEO, Prashant Tripathy, subject to regulatory approvals. This change comes in the light of Tripathy’s plans to take an early retirement and step down from his current role at the end of September.
Sumit Madan currently serves as the Senior Director and Chief Distribution Officer (CDO) at Axis Max Life Insurance.
Prior to joining Axis Max Life Insurance Company, Madan has held leadership positions at organisations like Citibank, AU Small Finance Bank and IDFC First Bank. Leveraging his financial sector experience of over 25 years, Sumit has already played a key role in strengthening the overall ranking of Axis Max Life Insurance, as per company sources.
