Arvind Mathur, who served as the Executive in Residence at Amazon Web Services (AWS), has hs announced his departure from the company after two and a half years with the organisation. Sharing the update on LinkedIn, Mathur thanked AWS and reflected on his experience, describing the stint as a chapter that gave him more than he had expected. He highlighted the talent across the organisation and the opportunity to work with people known for their expertise, judgement and collaborative approach.
During his time at AWS, Mathur said he worked with customer executives to help them navigate and understand a rapidly changing business environment. He also highlighted his experience as part of the Executive-in-Residence (EiR) team, describing it as one of the most concentrated learning experiences of his career. He credited his colleagues for bringing diverse perspectives, candour and a willingness to experiment to their work.
"Thank you, AWS! After two and a half remarkable years, I am wrapping up a chapter that gave me far more than I expected. Across AWS, I saw an extraordinary density of talent and had the privilege of working with people who brought deep expertise, sound judgment, and an instinct to help", the LinkedIn post read.
Mathur said he is leaving AWS with gratitude for the impact made during his tenure, along with the learning, friendships and personal growth he gained during the journey. He added that he will now take some time with his family and focus on "sharpening the saw" before announcing his next move.
A former CIO and ex-AWS customer who led enterprise transformations at Kellogg's, Prudential, and P&G, he served as a peer advisor for executive teams navigating similar journeys. He helped leaders think through digital transformation, cloud modernization, AI adoption, and how to drive change at scale in traditional enterprises.
