Anshul Asawa to take over as CEO of DMart’s parent company from February 1

Anshul Asawa will take charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Avenue Supermarts, which is DMart’s parent company from February 1. He will also take on the role of Managing Director of the Company for a term of 3 years with effect from 1st April, 2026.
In a BSE filing, Avenue Supermarts announced that the tenure of its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ignatius Navil Noronha, will conclude on January 31, 2026. Noronha will cease to hold office at the close of business hours on that date.
“With reference to the captioned subject and further to the earlier intimation submitted by the Company on 11th January, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held today, inter-alia other matters, took on record conclusion of current term of Mr. Ignatius Navil Noronha as Managing Director of the Company on 31st January, 2026. Consequently, he shall cease to hold office as a Managing Director & CEO of the Company with effect from the close of business hours on 31st January, 2026”, the regulatory filing said.
“The appointment of Mr. Anshul Asawa, presently the CEO Designate, as Chief Executive Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the Company from 1st February, 2026 and as Managing Director of the Company for a term of 3 (three) years with effect from 1st April, 2026, subject to approval of shareholders of the Company”, the BSE filing stated.
Anshul Asawa was appointed as the CEO designate last year from March 15, 2025. Anshul Asawa joins after a nearly three-decade stint at Unilever, where he is currently General Manager, Greater Asia, Home care | Head of country, Unilever Thailand.
Asawa has held various marketing, sales, digital commerce and general management positions in multiple countries and categories.
