Anshul Asawa has taken charge as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of DMart’s parent company Avenue Supermarts.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Asawa said, “Today, I am formally taking charge as CEO and Managing Director of Avenue Supermarts Limited. The past year has been dedicated to onboarding and transitioning into this role in a well-planned and phased manner”.
“I extend my gratitude and appreciation to everyone in the leadership team and the rest of the organization for their support during this smooth transition”, the post added.
Asawa was appointed to the leadership role after Avenue Supermarts’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ignatius Navil Noronha’s tenure ended on January 31, 2026.
Anshul Asawa was appointed as the CEO designate on March 15, 2025. He joined the company after a nearly three-decade stint at Unilever. In the past, Asawa has held various marketing, sales, digital commerce and general management positions in multiple countries and categories.
