In a social media post, Chandra recalled that Zee’s journey began 34 years ago with a team of five people and a clear ambition to create entertainment made by Indians for Indian audiences.
Looking back, Chandra described the three-decade journey as one that “feels like a lifetime” while also seeming like it began only yesterday. He recalled the challenges surrounding the launch but said the vision remained focused on building Indian entertainment for India.
According to Chandra, that initial step went on to contribute to a transformation in the broadcasting sector, while creating opportunities, careers and livelihoods for more than 30 million people.
Chandra said the milestone should not be viewed as his achievement alone. He credited the technicians, artists, team members and audiences who contributed to Zee’s growth and became part of its journey.
Concluding his
note, Chandra thanked everyone associated with Zee over the past 34 years. He said the journey had created a legacy over three decades, while the focus now shifts towards the future and reshaping tomorrow through Indian innovation.
