The broadcast industry has raised objections to DPOs not conducting audits for the last 4 years.

The objections are part of 55 responses that TRAI has received for the consultation paper on the Interconnection Regulations, 2017, and the Digital Addressable Systems Audit Manual.

The broadcasters have suggested that it should have the primary right to audit as "subscriber under-reporting by DPOs", they said was leading to losses.

News reports have quoted broadcasters as saying that there was lack of compliance and that they have also not been receiving audit reports.

They have also asked the MIB to ask TRAI to remove the clause that may lead to further misuse.

While broadcast bodies like IBDF and AIDCF have responded to the consultation paper.
