Prem Sagar, son of noted filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, passed away on August 31 at the age of 84. A renowned producer and cinematographer, he played a key role in developing several successful television shows under the Sagar Arts banner, a production house established by his father.
As per media reports, he was undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The Producers Guild of India paid tribute to him, acknowledging his contributions to the film and television industry. He was also a senior and active member of the Guild.

A 1968 graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, Prem Sagar had a strong foundation in photography and cinematography.
Prem Sagar was known for his works in the creation of popular TV series such as Ramayan, Vikram Aur Betaal and Shri Krishna. He also served as a cinematographer for films like Lalkar, Aankhen and Charas.
