Reliance and Disney have announced the completion of their transaction to form a joint venture, uniting India’s leading entertainment brands under one entity.
Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the Head of Distribution for the new JV.
Goyal, who has served as Chief Operating Officer of Indiacast Media, a Viacom18 venture, since April 2023, will now oversee distribution strategies and partnerships for the merged entity.
Goyal’s team includes three key executives: Sumit Grover, who will be responsible for cable, DTH, and growth initiatives; Amit Shah, who will handle linear TV distribution strategy and collaborate with the sports strategy team; and Bindu Nair, who will lead distribution marketing efforts. This leadership lineup aims to streamline and strengthen distribution channels for the joint venture, positioning it for extensive reach and impact across India's entertainment landscape.
