JioStar has initiated a case against Zee Entertainment for allegedly broadcasting Bollywood films that it has the rights to without authorisation, media agencies have reported.
Earlier in April, Zee sued JioStar in a Delhi court for unauthorised use of its copyrighted music.
Now, JioStar filed a case on May 4 with a legal mediation committee challenging Zee's broadcast of some Bollywood movies last year.
As per a Reuters report, the news agency has been privy to contents in the legal documents.
Zee had alleged that the Reliance-Disney joint venture continued to use Zee’s copyrighted music even after licensing agreements had expired. The suit sought $3 million in damages for commercial exploitation of content from Zee’s music division.
