Savio Rodrigues, the founder of Goa Chronicle, an online news portal with a focus on investigative journalism, announced that the organisation may have to make some “tough decisions” in the coming weeks.

Rodrigues, who is the editor-in-chief of the publication, hinted that the portal may have to be shut down in a tweet: “Goa Chronicle has been our labour of love, dedication and commitment to journalism. We have a sacrificed a lot to follow the truth for the last 14-years. But it is increasingly difficult to keep it alive because truthful journalism does not pay and we cannot write anything other than the truth.

“In the coming weeks, we will be taking some tough decisions whether to continue on this path or not. It will break my heart but beyond a point you have to let go and move on. Keep us in your prayers. We have always stood against the tide for the interests of India and humanity at large.”
